Running & Strength Coach

IMG_0951.jpeg

I've never met a runner I couldn't learn something from.

So, whether we’re meeting for a group run, connecting as running buddies, or working together as athlete and coach I look forward to getting to know not only the PRs you’re chasing, but your whole story. Running brings out our best selves and, as your coach, it’s my goal and passion to help you hone everything unique about you into your best runner-self.

I've heard my coaching style described as combination spirited-militant and, while I think I’m way more cheerleader than drill sergeant, I’m not one to coddle. I’ll push you and challenge you to push yourself.

We're talking running so of course I could go on and on, but let’s schedule a consult or meet for a run, so I can start learning about you, too.

Athlete Stories

Ryan Carmichael

"As it became increasingly evident that pursuing a BQ in 2020 wouldn't be an option, shifting gears to stay motivated with new challenges became my priority. After training with Coach Maria for my cancelled spring marathon, I was confident that when I approached her with the idea of gradually building my mileage over the summer with the goal of hitting a 100 mile week by fall that she'd plot a surefire plan to help see it through intelligently and injury-free. What she delivered was perhaps the most fun and rewarding running experience of my life.

As the weeks flew by, I felt myself getting stronger and even as the miles piled up they felt uniquely challenging and never like a slog. A thoughtful tactician, Maria listened to my feedback every step of the way and dynamically tailored the training plan to my schedule, virtual races, and even the weather. Her detailed strength and speed workouts added bonus value to what was already a top notch plan.

Thorough and committed, Maria uses her vast knowledge to push you as an athlete towards your goals. All that you can ask for in a coach and more!"
